Stormwater Catch Basin Installation

Commercial facilities managers know they can count on Branson Gilliland Excavating for quality work at an affordable price.

The FedEx Distribution Center in Plainfield was experiencing some issues with excess water behind their shipping facility. They wanted to take care of the standing water and get it to drain properly.

Catch Basin for Proper Drainage

Branson Gilliland Excavating assessed the ground and came up with the perfect drainage solution. It was determined that a catch basin needed to be installed. A catch basin is an underground container that catches the water so it can flow to the proper channels.

Routing Water From the Catch Basin to a Stormwater Drain

Properly directing the flow of water on any property will prevent standing water, soggy ground, and structure damage. In this case, our team dug a trench using our equipment. We installed a 4-inch pipe and redirected the water to an existing stormwater drain. We also put large stones around the catch basin drain cover to make it more visible and protect it from debris.

And, we took care in covering the trench and excavated areas with hay to aid with grass regrowth. Our team is intentional about proper cleanup and leaving worksites orderly and free of debris or other hazards.

This project took one day to complete. Upon completion, the business had a newly installed system for the drainage they needed!
